We’re very excited to have you as part of our family. We take pride in our schools for the pre-professional dance, music and drama training we provide to the community. In keeping with that professionalism our students are required to attend dance classes in proper dance attire. It is important for each class that all dance students respect and follow this policy. Some parents have found it helpful to have two pairs at home in case one pair is being laundered. For your reference we have included a listing of our other studios where you can shop for tights and shoes. Please click here for our class dress requirements and dancewear supply stores. * No jewelry, watches or gum allowed in class * No food of any kind is allowed in dance studios * Students should bring bottled water to class, labeled with their name. * Hair must be neatly pulled in ponytail or bun for medium and long hair * No baggy clothes in dance class, please! * We appreciate parents cleaning up food and toys in waiting area before leaving PRESCHOOL PARENTS: Students must be 3 years old to begin classes.ATTENDANCE POLICIES Dance Classes: Dance students are expected to arrive 10 -15 minutes prior to class to properly stretch and warm up so as to prevent unnecessary injuries.
Communication
All communication to parents of the school is in writing. If you are not clear about something, please
call the office or place a note in
the tuition box.
PLEASE BE SURE WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS. YOU WILL RECEIVE AN
EMAIL FROM US ABOUT EVERY ONE TO TWO MONTHS, UPDATING YOU ON ACTIVITIES.
Students should not be coming home with verbal instructions. We place everything in writing.
Contact us if
there is any confusion about any instruction and we would be happy to clarify it
for all.
We have a no verbal policy in the school. Please do not communicate important information to
teachers. Please contact the office and we in turn will contact the teachers, as well as anyone else who
must be informed.
Everything in the office is written in our message book to assist us.
We welcome your suggestions and comments. We send out surveys each year which have helped to
improve our
program. We thank you and encourage
you to continue your support.
Please do not ask teachers to relay messages to the office. Please speak with the office directly or place
a note in the
tuition box with any important information.
Please do not deduct for missed classes due to Holidays, sickness and inclement weather. Scheduled
holidays have been taken into consideration when establishing yearly tuition. See “Snow Policies” for
cancellation due
to inclement weather.
Snow Policy/Emergency Closing
In the event of inclement weather or other emergencies, be sure to call the answering machine or check
our website www.comad.net, www.paperformingarts.com.
If there isn’t a message regarding school closing, then classes will be in session. Students can make up
snow days by checking the schedule for available class times. There are no refunds for snow days, only
make-ups.
Please note that you will need to check one half hour before your class time to be sure classes are not
cancelled.
Make-ups for cancellations and Snow Days
Make-ups for dance: These are posted on the bulletin board and can be taken at your convenience
(You must call
and inform us 48 hours before attending).
Make-ups for
music: Repertoire Class information
is posted on the bulletin board.
May and June rescheduling
The months of May and June may require some rescheduling because of conflicts with the Teacher’s
schedules due to various rehearsals. We will send home information about these changes as these
months near.
Substitutes
COMAD/PPAA reserves the right to replace a teacher with a substitute if that teacher is not able to
attend a lesson.
Return call
Please allow three
working days for a call back. If
you do not receive a call back, please call again and leave a message with a
convenient time and number to reach you. You may also email us at
info@paperformngarts.com.
Safety
Please do not allow students to enter the building alone. Bring students into the studio and be sure the
teacher is aware of their presence. The parking lot is a very dangerous area, please do not ask students
to meet you
outside the building after class. Escort them to the car. Please do not
allow siblings to play in the parking lot or on the stairs inside the building.
If you drop your child off for class, be sure to pick them up on time. We do not want students waiting
outside
alone in the parking area.
Parking
On busy evenings please allow extra time for parking so that students still are ready to begin class on
time.
Eagleville: For Music: There is parking in the rear of the building at our Eagleville location; we encourage
students to enter through the back entrance for Music only.
For Dance: Please enter through the front door.
Harleysville: Because we are in a shopping center, parking is not a problem. If you have a teenage
driver who has classes until later, be sure to remind them to always exit the building with another
student or a teacher. It is never too safe of an area to ignore safety.
North Wales: The parking lot outside the front of the building can be used, but also over the railroad
tracks there in the back of the building. The building parking lot in the left corner is also available for
us to park.
Absenses
If a student is
absent from a class, he/she is entitled to a general music make-up class. A
general music make-up class is a group repertory class where the students must
come prepared with a piece to perform.
It is not required that a student have the piece memorized or completed.
The teacher will comment, discuss and /or recommend areas for
improvement. Scales and exercises
may also be asked for. Students are
only entitled to this make-up if they call 24 hours in advance of their
scheduled lesson. A repertoire class
(for make-ups) will only be offered once every two months. Please inform us
that your child needs a make-up by placing your name on the repertoire list in
the office. Make-ups must be
taken before May 1. There will be
no make-ups carried over to the summer or following year unless extended because
of snow cancellations or teacher absences. If a student is
late for lessons, their time is missed and the class time will not be extended.
Teachers are regularly scheduled with lesson times back to back.
To avoid interruption of lesson time, you may want to contact the office for
questions, unless it pertains to the student's lesson. Understand that the
teacher cannot speak to you longer than the student's lesson time.
Cancellations & Requests
Teachers are not the source for requests or to inform about a cancellation or
withdrawal from a class.
Written requests to the office is the only recognized form of communication by
the school.

Dance
Teams/Company
By Audition Only
(May/June and September Auditions) This program is for more serious dancers, who want to improve their technique in Ballet and Jazz. We have a holiday performance, sometimes a performance in February/March and more than one recital to perform for. They are also required to attend competition if they are in Company or Dance Teams(fees for competition range from $40.00-$100.00). Team/Company/cpmcerto may also be required to attend at least one master class during the year. (Fee may be $15.00-$60.00, depending on the artist brought in). Students are required to attend classes based on their level and a summer camp. Parents must come in to sign papers to review responsibilities which is explained at auditions. Many of these students major or minor in dance in college. We recommend non-performing classes to prepare for pre teams/teams and Academic Ballet Classes to prepare for Concerto.
