Recitals

Recital/Rehearsal Information

There are two recitals at the end of the year.  If students plan to participate, they must be there for all recitals and rehearsal (preschool classes will not be required to attend this one-hour rehearsal, but will be taught the finale in the classroom). .  This is a courtesy to the students in their class and to their teacher who has choreographed for the entire class.  One child missing will interrupt the entire dance.  We all understand emergency situations, but not irresponsibility to fellow students and teachers.

Informal      We have a wonderful Informal recital free to the public.  We encourage you to bring family and friends to this recital.  Students are able to watch the recital in full costume with you.  They will be asked to be back at their tables(located in the cafeteria with their class day/time name on the table) 5 songs before their performance.  All students must have an adult with them throughout this recital. This is in full costume.  There is no charge for anyone at the door and it is run like a day of the arts.  Students may remain as long as they like.  Picture forms will be available and pictures will be taken in the cafeteria.

A reminder that this is an informal show.  There will be no Finale for this show.  Be sure to check the bulleting board and/or website for updated performance times.

Formal Recital   The Formal recital is a sit down dinner.  All seats are pre-seated (no requests please).  There is no need to come early.  There will be no high chairs for small children (no strollers) and no children’s dinner prices.  There are seats only for the number of tickets sold. We suggest that small children attend the Informal recital.  This is a very popular recital.

It is a very special night for the performing student. When you arrive, you will ask where the Concervatory is meeting and you will be directed to a large room.  Students will be sent in with their bags.  Parents may not enter the room, but the door is open and one of our staff remains at the door for safety.  They are well chaperoned and if there are any problems, we know where you are sitting and we will contact you.  If you need to speak to your child, you may come to the room where they will be.  We will bring the student outside the room, but we will not permit you to enter the room.  This is for the safety of the students.   We also have a rated “G” video playing in the room to occupy students.  Water and pretzels are provided.

Dismissal from the Formal:  At the end of the show, we will announce the area the students are dismissed from.  The older students are usually dismissed from the Balcony.  Younger students 3-5 year olds are usually dismissed from the stage.  Do not panic if you have two to dismiss, we will wait with the students until all parents come for them.

A reminder to send someone whom the teacher or staff will recognize and avoid bringing your entire family to the pickup area.  This creates a traffic jam and makes dismissal difficult.

Rehearsal:  Rehearsal is about one hour long and we only rehearse the Finale.

Recital/Rehearsal Policies

Our Formal recital is a sit down dinner for family and friends.  Ticket prices are approximately $40.00 for dinner and show.
