Interns     Performance   Trips

INTERNS in MUSIC   DANCE  DRAMA      Many of our students receive scholarships to participate in other areas of the school or become substitute teachers and assistants in High School.

Below is our Intern program for Dance.   For Music and Drama- send an email to the department if you are interested.
  •  with young students...It is required to take this program for 2 summers to become Certified.
  • Ballet Book must be purchased with terminology.

    Who may be an Intern?

    Students who have at least 4 year of Ballet and Jazz training and are interested in Student teaching or interning for the school.

    •  7th and 8th graders may begin the program.  They may be student teachers(not paid) and assigned classes to assist in the Fall.
    •   Students in 9th and 10th grade may student teach for younger age groups and then move into the 7-9 year old age group.(Not paid)If the 9th and 10th graders are asked to Sub for a teacher they will place their hours in and receive a voucher which will be used for anything at the school.(Same as cash)
    • 11th and 12th-  We will do our best to give the students their own class, especially seniors.($10.00 an hour).  This is also paid in vouchers.  Students must be certified through our program to do this.                     

    Process:

    • Students will take a summer 2 day(6 hour program each summer).  This is a briefing on Safety in the classroom.  Do's and Don't.  Class structure.  Psychology of working
    d keep a journal recording the structure of the class, and exercises etc..(This should be handed in at the end of your observances) Observance sheets signed by the teacher will also be handed in.  Set up your observances by emailing Dance@paperformingarts.com
  • 2 times teaching a class with a rating from the teacher of 7 or higher.(This sheet should also be placed into the tuition box signed and filled out by the teacher).
  • Test must be taken before the next step.  Email Mrs. C at info@paperformngarts.com to set up a test date
  • Last observance is by Mrs. C..  This completes a temporary certification.  2nd summer session completes certification.  Journal, observances must be handed in at this time.

TRIPS  PERFORMANCES

As students advance we present more and more performing opportunities.  Participation in productions held throughout the year.  Trips to New York for classes, Broadway shows and workshops with Broadway performers and Dance Masters.

In the past we have:  Performed in Disney many times,  Universal Studios, Nashville Tennessee,  Governors Mansion,  Rome, Italy, Carnival Cruise lines, nursing homes, Resorts International and many other venues.

 

 

Music:  Students perform in a Recital in December and June and may enter our Music Competition in March/April

 

Dance:  Students participate in an Informal Recital and a Formal Recital in June.  Company Teams Concerto, perform more often.

 

Theatre:  Students perform in a recital in December and June and may opt to be a part of one to four productions each year.
